For the sake of truth, full disclosure please: the Society of Saint Pius X is NOT in union with Rome.

There are some societies that ARE in union with Rome, such as the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter.

Lies, Lies, Lies

Actually, they were approved by Rome in 1971. There is no lie there. They are in communion and within the Church, per Cardinal Castrillon Hoyos.

They are not yet, however, canonically regularized.

You forgot to mention that Lefebvre and his four bishop buddies are still excommunicated. come to think of it, the Italian Police have labelled SSPX a cult.

Not a single bishop or priest of the FSSPX is excommunicated from the Church, therfore they are in communion with the Church.
The Society is in an irregular situation, within the Church, as they wait for a Canonical status.

Yes they were established as a legitimate Society of Apostolic Right in 1971 by the Bishop of Fribourg and the Holy See.
The Society was unjustly declared suppressed in 1976, for the sole, and only reason that Archbishop Lefbvre would not offer the Ordo Missae of 1970.
God bless
